TSDSI has evolved a Standardization Roadmap (V2.0) created after a broad-based stakeholder consultation process. This Roadmap has 16 topics which have been categorized into 9 clusters. The roadmap is available at https://tsdsi.in/roadmap/.

TSDSI now wishes to expand the number of subtopics under various clusters to cover the significant defining aspects of such clusters for further technical studies and standardization. For this purpose, proposals are invited from TSDSI Members, Academia, Industry, Start-ups, Equipment Manufacturers, R&D organizations, and Subject matter experts for the upcoming Roadmap Workshop in 2022.

Background:

5G networks and devices will soon become a reality, with wide deployments being planned in various geographies around the globe. However, the demand for more data rate is still booming and thoughts to satisfy this is resulting in research for a newer generation for cellular/wireless communication, the 6G. It is expected that 6G will be the new standard that not only provides a considerable data rate (of the order of Terabits-per-second) and extremely low latency (of the order of one-tenth of a millisecond) but will facilitate the “hyper-connected” paradigm that will connect users and things. 5G networks are expected to disrupt ecosystems, where several Vertical industries like automotive, industry 4.0, health, media, security & public safety, and energy will benefit. Hence, their involvement with telecom operators, manufacturers, SMEs, and Research Institutes is crucial. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming pervasive in wireless communication, especially 5G, and is expected to play a vital role within 6G. Thus, more computation and communication resources will be consumed, where their optimization is necessary.

The Roadmap Workshop will focus on emerging sub-topics related to

  • AI for communication
  • Verticals
  • Applications
  • Technologies beyond 5G
  • 6G Vision

Sub-topics may cover different aspects of the above including

  • Cloud
  • Open-Systems
  • Rural Broadband
  • Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN)

Important Dates:

  • Manuscript/Proposal Submission Deadline: 22nd February 2022 [FIRM]
  • Notification of Acceptance/Rejection due date: 24th February 2022
  • Final version due date: 28th February 2022
  • Workshop agenda publication: 1st March 2022
  • Workshop date: 10th March 2022

Contributors are advised to give their proposals in the attached templates.

Detailed proposal may please be submitted in template 1. It is preferable that presentation for the workshop may be submitted in template 2. Both the templates may please be submitted together as per the deadline mentioned above.

The proposals should be submitted to akansha@tsdsi.in, akmittal@tsdsi.in. Any query related to the workshop may be sent to the same email address. TSDSI will select the submissions and inform the concerned proponents accordingly. They will be required to make a presentation virtually on the date and time to be notified separately.
