The Project Coordination Group (PCG) of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), has unanimously appointed Mr N G Subramaniam, Chair- TSDSI as its Chairperson for calendar year 2022, in its meeting held on 19-20 October 2021.
The PCG is the highest decision making body in 3GPP, meeting formally every six months to determine the overall time frame and management of technical work, final adoption of work items within the agreed 3GPP Scope, ratify resources committed to the 3GPP work, and appointment of the Technical Specification Group and Project Coordination Group Chairs.
TSDSI, one of the 7 Organizational Partners of 3GPP, has enabled deepening of engagement of the Indian Technology community – including user segment to participate and contribute to the technical work of 3GPP. 54 member organizations of TSDSI participated in 3GPP work in calendar year 2021. TSDSI transposed standards of 3GPP’s specifications for 4G Technologies, have been notified as national standards by Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC). Earlier, in 2019, TSDSI members to 3GPP were successfully able to advance incorporation of NaVIC into the 3GPP Release 16.
