Workshop on “Standards Driven Research” at NCC 2023 (23 February 2023)
February 23 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
TSDSI organized a standards driven research workshop under the aegis of NCC 2023 on 23rd February 2023 with the goal of engaging with academia and research community and to motivate the research community to take up research topics that can lead to downstream development of standards. This helped channelise the vast research expertise in India and also helped in seeding the IP created during research into standards- thus opening avenues for monetizing the same. This workshop also helped to discuss topics that could be candidates for contributing to standards. It identified challenges faced by academicians in doing standards driven research and make recommendations for addressing the same.
There were 4 Technical sessions covering the following topics:
- Cyber-physical system
- Sustainability, Trust, Security, and Resilience
- Defeat Digital Divide
- Ubiquitous Intelligent Mobile Connected Society
The goal was to give insights into these topic areas so that researchers are motivated to carry out the research and can also share their work done with TSDSI for taking into standards deliberations.
About NCC:
The National Conference on Communications (NCC) is a flagship conference of India in the broad areas of communications, organized every year by the Joint Telematics Group (JTG) of the IITs and the IISc. It has become a regular forum for researchers, students and practicing engineers to present and exchange ideas on the latest technological advancements and innovations. The salient features of this conference are well-planned pre-conference tutorials, technical paper sessions, plenary talks by experts, and industrial exhibitions. Over the last twenty-eight years, it has witnessed progressively larger participation of researchers both from Academia and Industry. The Twenty-Ninth NCC was jointly organized by IIT Guwahati, IIT Patna and IIT Ropar. The conference was held at IIT Guwahati during February 23 – 26, 2023.
