Webinar on “Standardization@3GPP: RAN-5G NR Radio Evolution” (June 24,2020: Webinar)

TSDSI launched the Partner Webinar Series on Standardization@3GPP in association with the India EU Cooperation on ICT-Related Standardization, Policy and Legislation (India EU PP). The series intended to share an overview of 3GPP and its activities, and bring insights from 3GPP experts on latest and futuristic technologies.
The third webinar in this series was held on 24 June 2020 on “RAN-5G NR Radio Evolution”

- Balazs Bertenyi, Nokia Chairman of 3GPP RAN
Speaker Bio: Balazs Bertenyi received an M.Sc. Degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications in 1998 at the Technical University of Budapest. Balazs has over 20 years of experience in the field, he joined Nokia in 1998 and started to work on circuit switched mobile switching.
In 1999 he joined the research group on IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and soon started to work in 3GPP standardization on IMS architecture. In 2015 Balazs moved to the radio standardization group within Nokia to focus on 5G matters. He started attending TSG-RAN in 3GPP in 2015 and started to work of 5G. In 2017 Balazs was elected as Chairman of TSG-RAN and has been serving as chairman of this key group since then.
Within Nokia Balazs has led various key projects on Mobile Broadband architecture and standards strategy.
- Ajay Kumar Mittal, Advisor – Networks, Systems & Technologies, TSDSI
Moderator Bio: Shri A. K. Mittal did his graduation in Electronics and Communications Engineering in 1976 from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He also holds a Diploma in Management. He has a career of over 44 years in the field of Telecommunications.
While he started his career in R&D at Indian Telephone Industries Ltd, later after joining Department of Telecom (DoT), Government of India he has worked in variety of domains like Satellite Communication, OFC, Microwave, Mobile Networks, Switching Systems, Network Management, Licensing, Regulation, Standards, Testing and Certification etc. He has headed the Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC), the technology arm of the Department of Telecommunications. He has represented the Government of India in various bilateral and multilateral international meetings.
Currently he is associated with TSDSI as Advisor with special focus on standardisation in wireless and wireline systems and handles standards related activities of TSDSI in 3GPP and ITU-R.
