Webinar on oneM2M “Smart Home/Smart Building private sector use case” under the aegis of the India-EU Partnership Project on Collaboration for ICT Standardisation (February 4, 2022: Online)

TSDSI in partnership with ETSI announced the 32nd webinar in the knowledge sharing series under the aegis of the India-EU Partnership Project on Collaboration for ICT Standardisation.

Details of the 32nd webinar in this series are as follows:

Topic: “oneM2M – Smart Home/Smart Building private sector use case”

Abstract: Digital services like Smart Home and Smart Building require open standards for interoperability to manage the fleets of devices and to solve the “silos” concern they are still facing today. In addition, opportunities are brought by the raise of technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Edge Computing and even Digital Twins. The webinar will present the benefit of open standards like oneM2M to address these concerns and opportunities. Illustrated by a Smart Building use case the webinar will focus on interoperability assets of oneM2M and how it has been implemented in a demonstrator showcased during last ETSI IoT Week. 

Moderator: Mr. Sushil Kumar, Deputy Director General in Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) 

Moderator Bio: Mr. Sushil Kumar is an officer of the 1987 batch of Indian Telecommunication services (ITS) and is currently posted as Deputy Director General in Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), and heading the Internet of Things (IoT), division.

He chairs National committees in TEC [National working group-20 (NWG-20)] to coordinate with ITU- T SG-20 on IoT and Smart Cities & Communities; and in BIS [LITD-27] to coordinate with ISO/IEC JTC1 SC41 on IoT and Digital Twin. He participated as a head of Indian delegations in the meetings of these international organizations.

He also chairs TEC Consultative Committee for adoption of oneM2M specifications transposed by TSDSI, resulting the adoption of oneM2M Release 2 as National standard. IoT Reference Architecture released recently by BIS has also referred these TEC standards.

Speaker: Mr. Sebastien Bolle, Orange, France 

Speaker Bio: Sébastien Bolle is a researcher in the area of Internet of Things. Graduated of IMT Atlantique in 1992, he joined Orange Innovation to work first on management of wide area networks and related standards, afterwards on information systems and software architecture projects till 2002. From 2003 to 2009, he held various responsibilities in Orange subsidiaries: Euralba (IS and IT services for B2B market) and Almerys (R&D in e-health services). He went back to Orange Innovation in 2010 and since he is involved in research in Internet of Things. His work and activities are related to open architectures, semantic interoperability, device management and digital twins for various use cases: Smart Building, Logistics, Smart Home and Network Management. He is also involved in collaborative projects (BIM2TWIN, ASAP), open source (Eclipse Foundation, FIWARE) and standardization (oneM2M, IOWN Global Forum). 

Speaker: Mr Przemyslaw Ratuszek, Orange, France 

Speaker Bio: He is an expert in IoT and Cloud Computing – leading international research projects from the area of Internet of Things and broadly defined Cloud Computing and was responsible for Cloud API mediation layer development for EU and AMEA countries. He is currently focused on Multi-access Edge Computing topics and development related with OM2M – the open source implementation of the ETSI OneM2M standard.
