TSDSI Session on “Role of Open Source in 5G Deployments” @Open RAN India 2021 Virtual Conference (June 17, 2021: Virtual Conference)
June 17 @ 2:15 pm - 4:15 pm
TSDSI is proud to announce a session on “Role of Open Source in 5G Deployments” in the Open RAN India 2021. The session will be chaired by Dr Inder Gopal, Co-Chair, TSDSI Open Initiatives Task Force (IISc Bangalore).
About the Session:
Softwarization and disaggregation of telecom equipment in recent times has spurred development of open initiatives in this space. Can Open Source level the playing field for Indian 5G product companies? What will be the impact of Open Source on overall Indian 5G Industry? The white box approach, coupled with interoperability, is accelerating innovations and driving down lifecycle costs, a win -win for the technology community, service providers/operators and end consumers. This session on “Role of Open Source in 5G Deployments” will discuss current and emerging trends in adopting open source in the various segments of the telecom ecosystem from India perspective. It will also attempt to identify specific actions that are recommended to promote this potentially game changer technology paradigm.
