TSDSI Roadmap 3.0 Workshop

January 16, 2024 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm

TSDSI had created a Standardization Roadmap (V2.0) for the period 2021-2023 after a broad-based stakeholder consultation process. The roadmap is available at https://tsdsi.in/roadmap/.

TSDSI now wishes to evolve the roadmap (V3.0) for the next cycle 2024-2026 with topics for further technical studies and standardization. This technology roadmap is intended to help in guiding the standardization work in TSDSI in the enhancement of existing technology areas and in taking up standardization in next generation technologies while addressing market requirements.

In this respect, TSDSI is organising the “Roadmap 3.0 Workshop” on 16 January 2024 in online mode. Proposals for this purpose were invited from members, academia, industry, startups, equipment manufacturers, R&D organizations, and subject matter experts. The workshop will have presentations based on the submissions to TSDSI.

Schedule: 16 January 2024, 09:30 AM to 05:30 PM IST
Venue: Online over GoToWebinar
Participation: Open to all with prior registration. This workshop is over.

TSDSI Roadmap workshop

16th January 2024

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Background

TSDSI had created a Standardization Roadmap (V2.0) for the period 2021-2023 after a broad-based stakeholder consultation process. The roadmap is available at https://tsdsi.in/roadmap/.

TSDSI now wishes to evolve the roadmap (V3.0) for the next cycle 2024 -2026 with topics for further technical studies and standardization.

This technology roadmap is intended to guide TSDSI in aligning its work towards vision of ensuring that digital communication standards increasingly drive domestic economic and policy activities and enhance India’s competitiveness for Information and communication technologies (ICT) goods and services in global markets. It also aims to create leadership position through India’s participation and contribution to emerging digital communication standards in global SDOs.

India is witnessing one of the fastest rollouts of 5G in the world. With the momentum on 5G, it is imperative to address challenges being faced in 5G deployment, to support future growth requirements of ICT in India. This growth will be driven by economical 5G device penetrations, innovative deployment models and use case developments across various vertical industries, including healthcare, media, public safety, manufacturing and automotive amongst others. While at the same time, research and innovation towards the next generation of mobile services or 6G is also progressing around the world. New use cases, technologies and verticals are emerging where India can actively contribute.

Submission of Proposals

With the above background, proposals are invited from TSDSI members, academia, industry, start-ups, equipment manufacturers, R&D organizations, government entities and subject matter experts for the Roadmap Workshop scheduled to be held on 16th January 2024.

Areas of Interest

New developments in AI/ML for air interfaces and core networks, energy efficiency, user experience enhancements, network capacity and coverage enhancements, multi cloud, Edge Computing, Drones/UAS based communications and applications, Visible Light Communications (VLC), NTN (Satellite, HAPS) evolution and integration with terrestrial networks, backhaul, spectrum, security, FWA evolution, spam prevention, new verticals applications, latency critical applications, innovative transport solutions, Open systems, quantum communications, emerging technologies towards 5G Advanced & 6G will be some of the key areas for submission of proposals for the roadmap workshop.
