oneM2M Technical Plenary Meeting (TP#68) (10 – 14 February 2025: New Delhi, India)
TSDSI, as Partner Type 1 of oneM2M, is hosting the oneM2M Technical Plenary Meeting TP#68 including the working group meetings from February 10th to 14th, 2025, and a mid-week Stakeholders Day conference on 12th February co-located in New Delhi, India.
oneM2M, launched in 2012, is a global partnership initiative between seven of the world’s preeminent standards development organizations, and later joined by TSDSI, to develop technical specifications for the deployment of interoperable, scalable and secure machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. oneM2M’s horizontal architecture standardises a set of common service functions that can be readily embedded within various hardware and software, to serve applications and services in diverse verticals.
oneM2M Releases 2 and 3 have been adopted by Telecom Engineering Centre, Govt. of India as national standards. ITU-T has also adopted oneM2M Release 2 specifications as Y.4500 series.
TSDSI plays a key role in representing India’s voice in development of the oneM2M specifications. TSDSI members have made significant contributions to the development of oneM2M specifications.

About oneM2M TP#68:
The Technical Plenary TP#68 will have oneM2M IMs deliberate on further development of Release 5 specifications and also initiate discussions Release 6 specifications in the RDM, SDS and TDE Working group meetings, to be held in hybrid mode (in person and online) from 10th to 14th February. Besides WG meetings, the overall plenary would be held on 10th and 14th February 2024.
Release 5, currently under development, the work in progress, introduces significant advancements to enhance functionality, interoperability, and support for emerging technologies. Key features include improved interworking with protocols and APIs such as ZigBee, NGSI-LD, Sensor Things API, 3GPP; support for edge computing deployment; enhanced data privacy and data regulations compliance; integration with AI/ML into IoT ecosystems using oneM2M’s semantic capabilities; enhanced support for digital twins implementation; and enablement of IoT enabled Metaverse applications.
About the Stakeholders’ Day:
A mid-week Stakeholders Day conference is being organised on 12th February. This is a full day event that aims to bring together key stakeholders, experts, and industry leaders to explore the future of IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M) standards.
