oneM2M Industry Day (25 Sept, 2019: Hyderabad)

6^th oneM2M Industry Day hosted by Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI) in partnership with India-EU Cooperation Project on ICT Related Standardisation, Policy and Legislation supported by IIIT Hyderabad and Sensorise Digital Services Pvt. Ltd. at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad on 25^th September 2019

 As the Internet of Things (IoT) continues its ascent as a multi-billion-dollar market in India, oneM2M, the global IoT standards initiative, will host its sixth Industry Day in partnership with Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI), in Hyderabad, one of the country’s foremost centres for technical innovation and output. This workshop is an important part of the weeklong oneM2M (www.oneM2M.org) Technical Plenary meeting being hosted by TSDSI in Hyderabad, India from 23^rd September to 27^th September 2019.

While the Technical Plenary meetings of oneM2M are restricted to members, the Industry Day event is open to all and thus gives an opportunity to the local players (market, industry, policy makers and regulatory agencies) to interact with the oneM2M experts, to exchange views on the IoT/M2M landscape, local requirements, innovations and global trends and standards.

This Industry Day assumes particular significance, as it is being held in the backdrop of India’s mission mode adoption of digital technologies to serve various national initiatives, including Digital India, Smart Cities etc.  The Indian Govt. is keen to mandate standards for implementation of IoT/M2M based systems and applications.

Speakers: The workshop speakers are renowned Subject Matter Experts drawn from TSDSI member organizations, oneM2M partnership project experts, Govt. of India, Regulatory and other stakeholder entities. Eminent speakers includes Shri Jayesh Ranjan IAS – Principal Secretary to Government of Telangana, Shri N.V.S. Reddy – Managing Director (Hyderabad Metro Rail), Shri C K Prasad IRSSE – Regional GM (RailTel Corporation of India Ltd.), Shri Vipin Tyagi – Executive Director CDOT, Shri Benoit Suaveroche – First Counsellor ICT (EU delegation to India), Shri Enrico Scarrone – Chair oneM2M Steering Committee, Shri Roland Hechwartner – Chair oneM2M Technical Plenary, Shri Sharad Arora – Founder & Managing Director, Sensorise, Dr. Inder S. Gopal – IISc, Professor Ramesh Loganathan – IIIT Hyderabad and many more.

The event will also feature live demonstrations of oneM2M implementations, including from CDOT, Chordant, Sensorise etc.

About TSDSI

Telecommunications Standard Development Society, India (TSDSI), India’s Telecom SDO, was formed in 2015 with a charter to promote development and seeding of local IP into global standards. TSDSI’s technical work is organized in wireless networks and technologies, services and solutions – applications, with cross-cutting topics of Energy Efficiency and Security. TSDSI has established partnership agreements with several global telecom SDOs and forums and is constantly adding to these alliances to better serve the needs of its members.

TSDSI is partner type 1 of one M2M like some of other Global SDOs and has active, constant interaction and involvement with all pre-standardization, standardization as well as implementation activities.
