DoT-TSDSI Micro Workshop Series on ‘Advancing 5G towards 6G’ #Workshop 1: Studies related to ‘Mobile Network Services’ (January 13, 2023 Online)

DoT-TSDSI joint workshop series on ‘Advancing 5G towards 6G’ aims to disseminate information about 3GPP Release 19 technology areas and timelines to the Indian technology ecosystem. The goal is to mobilize Indian Industry technologists and Academic researchers to actively participate and contribute to the ongoing and future work at 3GPP.
The first micro-workshop in the series focused on the 3GPP Studies related to ‘Mobile Network Services’.
About this micro workshop:
The workshop introduced the audience to the latest studies ongoing at 3GPP towards standardization of topics related to Satellite communication, Network energy efficiency, Network sharing and Roaming as a service. The following Release 19 study items were discussed in this workshop:
Energy Efficiency as a service criteria aims at supporting energy efficiency measurement service as the key component of a sustainable telecom system.
Satellite access-Phase 3 is a step towards adding crucial capabilities to the 5G NTN system architecture to make it a robust mechanism for enabling Ubiquitous connectivity.
Roaming value-added services evaluates use cases to attain better management of UE services while on international roaming.
Network Sharing Aspects investigates multi-operator network sharing scenarios to attain sustainable future networks.
