TSDSI felt proud to partner with the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) to conduct an online workshop on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) on 17th September 2024 from 02:30 PM to 4:35 PM IST (11:00-13:05 CEST).
Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) is envisaged as a new enabling candidate wireless technology for dynamically controlling of radio signals between a transmitter and a receiver. It can support enhancement of some of the key aspects of mobile networks like coverage spectrum efficiency energy etc.
TSDSI had recently published a technical standard on “Methods and Interface Design for RIS-assisted Communication Systems.
The workshop provided an overview of the standard and facilitated knowledge exchange on current and future trends among researchers and industry professionals in this area. Expert speakers included Prof. Arzad Alam Kherani (Chair, TSDSI WorkGroup on Application Layer Standards) and Prof. Angeliki Alexiou (Chair – WWRF WGs on Radio Communication Technologies and High Frequency Radio Technologies).
