DESCRIPTION:Telecommunications Standards Development Society\, India (TSDSI) partnered with IEEE ANTS to organise a workshop on Standards Driven Research for Financial Inclusion as part of the IEEE ANTS on 14th December 2021 from 1400 to 1730 hrs. The workshop dwelled on ongoing research and standards development activities for financial inclusion including potential of leveraging private networks for delivering financial services to rural areas. \nAbout IEEE ANTS: IEEE ANTS is a premier IEEE conference on advanced networking and telecommunications topics. IEEE ANTS is financially and technically supported by IEEE Communications Society. The distinguishing characteristic of IEEE ANTS is the promotion of an intense dialogue between academic and industry to bridge the gap between academic research\, industry initiatives\, and governmental policies. This year the theme was “Ubiquitous Digital Connectivity and Economic Prosperity for All”. IEEE ANTS 2021 was held at Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT)\, Hyderabad which was established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in 1996. The theme of the conference fostered an environment for deliberating on different research aspects on the said topic. \nAbout the Standards Driven Research Workshop at IEEE ANTS 2021: \nSchedule: 14 December 2021\, 1400 to 1730 IST \nVenue: Online \nRecordings: The link to the recordings will be made available shortly. \nSpeakers: \n\n\n\n\n\nAbhishek Thakur\, Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT)\nPradipta Biswas\, Indian Institute of Science\nRadha Krishna Ganti – IIT Madras\nRajesh Bansal\, Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH)\nRengarajan S\, Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT)\n\n\n\n\nR K Pathak\, Department of Telecommunications (DoT)\nSai Dhiraj Amuru\, IIT Hyderabad\nSudhir Dixit\, Basic Internet Foundation\nCharumati P\, Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT)\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram Schedule:  \n\n\n\nTime (IST)\nSession Name\nTOPIC\nSpeaker(s)\n\n\n14:00-14:15\nContext Setting\n\nConnecting The Unconnected (CTU) \nRole of Standards & Standards Driven Research (SDR) \n\nRadha Krishna Ganti (IITM)\n\n\n14:15-14:45\nKeynote Talk\nFinancial Inclusion initiatives in Indian Banking and Financial Services\nRajesh Bansal (RBI Innovation Hub)\n\n\n14:45-15:30\nTech-Talk\nRural and Remote Connectivity in Beyond 5G Networks\nSudhir Dixit (Basic Internet Foundation)\n\n\n15:30 – 16:00 REFRESHMENTS\n\n\n16:00-16:30\nTech-Talk\nAccessibility – varying degrees of abilities\nPradipta Biswas (IISc Bangalore)\n\n\n16:30-17:20\nPanel Discussion\nEnabling Rural Private Network Pilots – possible avenues\nModerator:\nAbhishek Thakur(IDRBT)\nPanelists:\n·        R K Pathak (DoT)\n·        Sai Dhiraj Amuru (IITH)\n·        Charumati P (C-DoT)\n·        Rengarajan S (IDRBT)\n\n\n17:20-17:30\nClosing Remarks\nConclusions and Announcements\nRadha Krishna Ganti\n\n\n\n
