SUMMARY:DoT TCOE India TSDSI COAI Workshop on IMT2020 7 February 2020 14:30-16:00\, New Delhi
DESCRIPTION:DoT TCOE India TSDSI COAI Workshop on IMT2020\, 7 February 2020 14:30-16:00 hrs\, \n13th Floor\, DoT Conference Room\, Sanchar Bhawan\, New Delhi \nTSDSI RIT submission on IMT2020 has been accepted for evaluation as an IMT2020 Standard at the ITU WP-5D Meeting #33 in Geneva held during December 10-13\, 2019. This submission will deliver\, in addition to the ultra-fast\, low-latency mobile internet and next-generation IoT services in both cellular and mm-wave spectral bands common to all 5G candidate standards\, an additional technological enhancement that has the ability to provide broadband connectivity to rural users using ultra-long range cell sites. It will ensure 100% of India’s villages can be covered from towers located at panchayat villages where Bharatnet reaches\, whereas nearly a third of such neighbouring villages would be out of coverage otherwise. It exploits a new transmit waveform that increases cell range developed by research institutions in India and supported by some Indian companies. \nIndependent Evaluation Groups\, including TCOE India and 5GIF are in the process of evaluating the candidate IMT 2020 submissions. The upcoming WP 5D meeting #34 scheduled in Geneva on Feb 19- 26\, 2020\, will discuss the evaluation reports of the RITs. It is important that as country we have common evaluation reports. \nIn order to bring about a common view\, DoT\, TCOE India\, COAI and TSDSI organised a workshop on 20 January 2002 to share updates on the Evaluation activities and discuss plans for the remaining 4 steps of ITU process for defining the IMT2020 standard. A follow on workshop to deliberate further on these topics was organised on 7 February 2020 in Sanchar Bhawan\, New Delhi from 14:30 to 16:00. The key discussion topic was sharing of results from the IEGs (including TCOE India and 5GIF) on the TSDSI RIT. \nStakeholders were invited to join in this interactive workshop. \nSchedule: 7 February 2020 14:30 – 16:00 PM IST \n Participation: Participation was open to all by prior registration request. Arrangements for remote participation were also made. \nVenue: DoT 13th Floor Conference Room\, Sanchar Bhawan\, New Delhi \nWorkshop Contact: Ms Bindoo Srivastava\, bindoo@tsdsi.in (+91 9873840817)/Cdr Anurag Vibhuti\, anurag@tsdsi.in (+91 9891991313) \nProgram Agenda: Program Agenda was as follows: \n\n\n\nSTART\nEND\nSESSION NAME\nTOPICS & SPEAKERS\n\n\n14:30\n14:35\nIMT2020 TSDSI \nSubmission\nOpening Remarks – Mr R K Pathak\, DDG-IC\, DoT\n\n\n14:35\n15:35\nIMT2020 \nEvaluation further updates based on discussions held on \n20 Jan 2020\nUpdate from TCOE India – Prof. David Koipillai \nUpdate from 5GIF – COAI – Mr Vikram Tewathia\n\n\n\n\n\n\n15:35\n16:00\nIndia Strategy on IMT2020\nDiscussion based on findings from Evaluation Results so far – \nOpen Discussion \n  \nConcluding Remarks – Mr Kishore Babu\, DDG S-R-I\, DoT\n\n\n\n
