Webinar #3 on Information Centric Networking (ICN) – The future of Internet“

April 7, 2017

Details of the third webinar in this series is as follows:

Topic: Information Centric Networking (ICN) – The future of Internet

Abstract: Information Centric Networking (ICN) has been proposed as an alternate architecture for the Internet. This is motivated by the change in pattern of data access over the Internet. ICN advocates the name based content centric approach of data access rather than the host centric approach of current Internet. This requires several changes in the Internet architecture while providing panacea for various long term challenges such as multi-casting, security, mobility etc. ICN has also been considered as one of the enabling technology for 5G along with mmWave, SDN etc. IETF has dedicated Research Group (ICNRG) [https://irtf.org/icnrg] for ICN with many actively contributing members including Xerox, CISCO, Huawei, TCS etc.
