The working groups such as architecture working group (WG) or protocols WG progress specific technical issues such as architecture or security evolutions. oneM2M specifications are based on requirements which are derived from use cases for consumer, enterprise and industrial IoT developed in the Requirements WG.
Currently oneM2M is working on its Release 3 which includes semantic interoperability, smart cities and industrial domain enablement. Release 3 builds on top of Release 2 set of specifications, currently proposed to ITU-T SG20 on IoT for a possible transposition into ITU-T recommendations.
