TSDSI is proud to announce the 10th Knowledge sharing webinar under the aegis of India EU Partnership Project on “Panel Discussion on Cloud standards and interoperability: Their importance and the road ahead.”
Abstract: Cloud computing is one of the important revolutionary technological breakthroughs of modern times. The question however, is: have we fully tapped the potential of this technology? In this Knowledge Sharing Webinar, Panelists will discuss how standards and interoperability will take cloud computing to a different level. A review of the current state of the art in this area shall be discussed, together with future trends, including the work being done by PES University in this area.
Session Moderator: Mr Udayan Banerjee, Secretary in Cloud Computing Innovation Council of India (CCICI) and Adviser to Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI).
Udayan is an engineering graduate and has been working in Indian IT industry for about 40 years in different capacities. During this period, he has been associated with many global enterprises. He currently holds the position of Secretary in Cloud Computing Innovation Council of India (CCICI). He is also an Adviser to Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI). He has 4 patents to his name and has several publications in international journals and has been a speaker in many international conferences.
Speaker: Prof. Dinkar Sitaram, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Present Head, Center for Cloud Computing and Big Data, PES University.
Prof. Sitaram completed his Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin Madison. His research interests include scheduling and sustainable resource allocation policies for hybrid clouds and cloud computing, as well as speech recognition and intelligent big data systems. He has authored 2 books – ‘Moving to the Cloud – Developing Apps in the New World of Cloud Computing’ published by American Elsevier; and ‘Multimedia Servers’ published by Morgan Kaufman. He has authored over 30 patents and 45 publications. He was awarded the IBM Corporate Innovation Award. He has served as CTO of Novell Software, as CTO of Andiamo Systems and also as CTO of STSD (R&D Wing of HP, India) prior to joining PES University.
